| Because of their utility, the speed with which they can be generated, and their (relatively) low cost, hundreds of thousands of EST sequences have been generated, many of which are freely available.
NCBI houses a large database of ESTs called dbEST. As of December 14, 2007, there were over 48 million entries in dbEST. |
