Mapping Software: what it can do for you
When you have a large number of markers, it would be very time consuming to assess all pairwise linkages (all the recombination frequencies between markers, 2 at a time) even using software. Most software programs can first give you “linkage groups” – groups of markers that are likely linked, that you can then look at separately in more detail.
