Copy number variants

Another source reflects differences in the copy number of a particular gene at a single locus. In human, copy number variants (CNV's) are known to be responsible for certain genetic diseases. CNV's occur in plant genomes too (see Knox et al. (2010) Theor. Appl. Genet. 121: 21-35
