Advantages of MAB: not subject to environmental effects
Because they are not subject to environmental effects, markers ensure that a trait can be selected regardless of the conditions (location and climate) where the plants are grown. Furthermore, new varieties developed can be identified and tracked with their unique genetic fingerprint (see example in the applications section).
