The InterDrought IV Conference is scheduled to be held at the Crown Perth in Western Australia from the 2nd to the 6th of September 2013. The InterDrought Conference provides a platform to discuss and debate key issues and strategies to increase crop productivity and resilience under drought conditions, with an emphasis on the plight of developing countries.
Hundreds of drought responsive genes have been identified and the function of some of these has been resolved at the cellular level. However, there is a gap between the molecular-level science and the interpretation and application of this knowledge at the whole plant level in the field. InterDrought-IV offers a platform to help bridge this gap – by linking progress made at the molecular level to that at the whole plant and crop levels in the field.
A number of renowned speakers have been confirmed to present at the conference, with a range of themes being addressed throughout the programme.

Delegate Funding
Attendance by practicing scientists and students from developing countries is strongly encouraged, and a number of bursaries – made possible by grants from the Food and Agricultural Organisation, the Crawford Fund and the Generation Challenge Programme – are available to support their attendance.
To be eligible for this support, one must be under 40 years of age and working on an aspect of agricultural drought in the developing world. Nominees actively engaged in drought research will receive priority. Suitable nominees are required to submit their CV in English with the emails of two referees to admin-icpber@uwa.edu.au by 15th March 2013.
