The Crop and Genomics Information available on the Integrated Breeding Platform Portal comprises of research results directly applicable to plant breeding and high-quality germplasm and evaluation data collected in the course of routine breeding activities. This information is compiled and published by International Research Centers of the CGIAR and other collaborators. The GCP has proposed a general strategy for managing this type of crop information.
The IBP has facilitated the development of well documented Trait Dictionaries for breeding through a set of processes which involved validation of the various lists of traits, translation into appropriate languages, ranking of the traits, analysis of the ranking and complete documentation of the important traits. This was done in consultation with breeders. Read more about the processes and status of the Trait Dictionary.
The Portal provides access to public historical phenotyping data, genotyping data and pedigree and germplasm information. Click on the individual crop on the left pafor more iunformation. You can also download the Breeding Management System to access and utilise the databases.
The Portal provides information on various markers, maps and QTLs to inform application of modern molecular approaches to the improvement of key food crops.GCP has alsdo initiated an Agricultural Genomics Network (AGN) on LinkedIn to promote discussions on developments in agricultural genomics and disseminate genomic technologies, tools and approaches.
