Welcome to the distance learning course for scientists on Genetic Resources Policies in the Generation Challenge Programme (GCP).
During the following weeks this course will provide you with a basic and practical distance-learning module to help scientists of Generation Challenge Programme related projects to understand the importance of rights associated with the access to, and use of plant genetic resources and related tools, methods and products protected by intellectual property rights when the results of research are to be used freely by smallholder farmers.

The course was developed by Robin Pistorius and Niels Louwaars (Wageningen UR) with technical support by the Network University (Amsterdam) and valuable input on the content by Shawn Sullivan (through IPGRI-CAS).
