Self-Directed Demonstration

Load

Installations of the BMS to support training scenarios have Tutorial Load and Save functionality activated  in their user interface. The educational application is designed for demonstration purposes only - without expectation of data security. If you are in a workshop with concurrent users DO NOT use the Tutorial Load feature - see your workshop leader if you have questions. Those working independently on the tutorial series have been given sole breeder access to a Tutorial database and will not impact the work of others. Self-directed demonstrators can load example data to the beginning of any tutorial using the Tutorial Load feature.

  • Download the tutorial restoration file that begins the tutorial (see table above). Upload to the program and Restore.

  • Loading the .sql file will permanently overwrite existing data - including the work of concurrent users of the crop database. If you are the only user of the database, select Restore to load data.

Save

If you would like to save your progress Create Backup (.sql). Tutorial Save functionality is only meant for demonstration or educational purposes - it is not the same as an administrative backup of the system.

For Educators & Workshop Leaders

As system administrator, use tutorial load file to prepare for a workshop. Establish example data before adding users with breeder permissions. If you load example data during a workshop with concurrent users you will need to add the users back to the example program.

In addition to the maize tutorial series (above), the following databases are available for you create custom crop scenarios for demonstration purposes. These .sql files do not contain germplasm or any data except the default crop ontology.
