Breeding Management System and Breeding View Licence Key Updates Needed 31st December 2015

December 22, 2015

Mexico, 23rd December 2015 – The Integrated Breeding Platform Breeding Management System (BMS) version 3.0.8 will no longer function after the 31st December 2015 due to the automatic expiry of the inbuilt licence key. We invite users of this version to download the V3.0.9 update to continue benefiting from their standalone installation. With this update, the V3 line remains the latest and most comprehensive standalone solution for breeders preferring to use the BMS on their local computers. This version however requires a separate license key for the proprietary component Breeding View (BV), and this will be delivered directly to you by VSNi International upon an eMail request to support@vsni.co.uk.

BMS Version 3.0.9 is designed to install on top of your existing BMS 3.08 while preserving your pre-existing data. However, we recommend that you backup your data prior to installing the update.  If connectivity or other issues prevent you from running the BMS single installer successfully, we also provide a ZIP download with all the applications and data necessary to install the BMS.

You can also request a DVD copy of the BMS installers. We would ship this to you by courier in the first two weeks of January 2016, so please provide a physical address and telephone and fax numbers to facilitate this. Fred Okono, IBP Knowledge Management Officer, will be available to provide support with any questions you may have about this version, licence keys and/or the installation process while you make the changeover.

For a summary of the changes in BMS 3.09, please see the BMS Changelog.

Coming soon

BMS Version 4.0 is planned to be released in the first half of 2016. Development efforts for this version are focussed on  providing a network and web-based solution, a long-sought professional solution for crop breeding programmes looking to accessing the BMS collectively through a local or cloud and server sharing data. A standalone installation of Version 4 will however also be available for those that prefer this.
