InterDrought-V Conference, February 2017, Hyderabad, India

The InterDrought-V Conference will be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Hyderabad, India, from the 21st to the 25th February 2017, hosted by the Centre for Excellence in Genomics  of the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics.

The programme for the conference is designed to facilitate sharing of ideas among scientists and stakeholders on drought, crop physiology, genomics, biotechnology and integrated breeding for crop improvement with a view to promoting global food security. There will be a technical sessions with leading authorities presenting papers, as well as a poster session to encourage the participation of young researchers. Concurrent workshops will cover sequencing and genotyping platforms;  GWAS and GS for crop improvement; trait mapping and molecular breeding for drought tolerance in cereals; trait mapping and molecular breeding for drought tolerance in legumes; and, intercropping of woody species in relation to facilitating drought resistance and buffering of water stress in crops.

Early bird Conference Registration ends on 30th November 2016, with regular registration closing on 15th January 2017. Early bird registration earns a discount of between US$ 100.00 and 500.00 depending on the type of participant.

Abstract submissions for oral presentations and the poster session must be done by the 15th of November and 15th of December 2016 respectively, in keeping with the guidelines provided on the conference website.

Conference accommodation will be available at Hotel Novotel next to the Convention Centre and other hotels in the vicinity. Participants are required to make their own accommodation arrangements, but can make bookings through the conference website.

Participants are advised to contact the Indian Embassy / High Commission / Consulate in their country in good time to obtain a visa for their entry into India for the conference. The conference organizers will provide an invitation letter on to facilitate visa applications by registered participants. The Government of India website Indian Visa Online provides all the requisite information for Indian Visa applicants.
