Efficient Data Management isimportant for proficient molecular breeding. Data that are properly managed are more accessible to other researchers, more likely to be well preserved and more likely to be re-used for other purposes. The Data Managers CoP aims to facilitate the development and adoption of best practices for research data management and annotation, to promote and allow re-use and sharing of the data. Such data standards include templates, domain models and ontologies that have been developed. Management of the data involves using the appropriate tools to capture and utilise information about germplasm, phenotyping and genotyping data.
